Special Features: An anomaly of her being born in a specific way gives Chess a pure ghost typage, rather than the usual dual ghost/poison.
Description: Ghosts are the rarest and most strange type of Pokemon to exist. In a world where normal Pokemon are barely understood, Ghost pokemon are so curious and different that very few people claim to be experts on their workings; external and internal. No one is even fully sure how they breed or reproduce; or even if they do so in the first place.
In fact, they do. Ghost Pokemon are the reincarnation of the spirits of the dead, obviously. Pokemon who both die, and linger as a wandering soul with business unfulfilled, will be candidates for a resurrection from within a ghost's womb. Pokemon reborn as Ghosts often have no memory of their former life, although they are aware it occurred, and might pursue the unlocking of those memories.
Chess is a female who had no inclination to go seeking her past. She has vague memories of a catlike body, but the unkind, looming silhouette and the tight straps pulled over her body that appear in all the memories terrify her, to the point where she decides it is better to let sleeping dogs lie. Born from a mismagius and gengar pairing, her goal instead seemed to attract her to humans. First, to terrify them, and then next to become one's partner. Her wish was eventually granted when she was caught up as a Haunter by some excited witch, who was then traveling the world in an effort to create a perfect team of Ghost types. Eager to assist, the two became fast friends, and through many adventures would seek to conquer the best of the best, using only the most spooky of Pokemon.
Unfortunately, the excitement, eagerness, and perhaps a bit of cockiness became the trainer's downfall, as she pushed on to fight through a hoard of bug types when she was warned not to. The swarm had gathered for annual breeding and migration, and so the males were more than a little aggressive. Unable to do much against dozens of strong pokemon, the trainer's team was assaulted on all sides, and eventually defeated... Leaving the trainer vulnerable, and terribly so...
Two of the female's ghosts died again that day; their physical bodies so assaulted that they couldn't be held together anymore, and so the spirits were forced out of them. The rest were heavily injured, but as soon as they were able, abandoned their rest to circle their trainer's hospital bed. She'd been terribly injured by an angry pinsir, and it wasn't clear if she was going to make it... Chess, being the female's first Pokemon, worries the most... She waits her trainer's final verdict, but she's already made up her mind; whether the trainer lives or dies, she won't let her go...
